Clara Caplice, Founder
Senior Physiotherapist in Adult and Paediatric Disability
BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, MISCP, CPP
CORU Registration Number PT033207
Clara is a Chartered Physiotherapist with almost a decade of experience. She obtained her BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Limerick in 2013.

Clara is a Senior Physiotherapist in Enable Ireland’s Adult Services, runs a monthly specialist foot, ankle, and insole clinic in Cork, lectures in the areas of Paediatrics and Complex Disability at RCSI, and sees a mixed caseload of adults and children in Helping Hands Physiotherapy. In 2021, Clara was nominated by the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists to be a member of the Physiotherapy subcommittee of the Disability Advisory Group to the National Clinical Programme for People with Disability.
Her 6 years of experience across the disability sector has driven Clara to advocate for what she calls “Tear-Free Therapy” for children and adults with complex needs, which combines current best practice techniques with her own therapy techniques. She is committed to treating even severe tightness and pain without undue discomfort or stress to the individual being supported:
“Physiotherapy should reinforce comfort and pride, not pain and failure, and avoid doing more damage mentally than we heal physically.”
This approach allows her to treat even young babies, the frail or elderly, and people with traumatic previous therapy experiences. Clara has completed over 400 hours of formal post-graduate training, including specialist training in Complex Postural Care, Therapeutic Casting, and Orthotics. This includes training from international experts such as Dr. Mary Massery, the physiotherapist who devised the “Soda Pop” biomechanical model of the core, Amanda Hall (aka The Madcaster), Susan Blum (developer of the TMR T&T treatment paradigm, which has PTs and parents raving all over the world), and Anat Baniel (founder of Anat Baniel Method® Neuromovement® and apprentice of Moshé Feldenkrais).
She is one of the only Physiotherapists in Ireland who is trained in both Total Motion Release (Level 1&2) and Total Motion Release Tots & Teens (Level 1). She also uses techniques such as neurokinetic therapy (NKT), taping, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), neurodevelopmental therapy (NDT), sensory processing interventions and use of the Mollii suit to enhance outcomes for the people she supports.
Clara is passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance the outcomes for people with complex needs. She was invited to give a lecture at the 2021 Annual Study Day of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists’ Voice Clinical Interest Group on the links between physical trauma and speech. She organises courses with international experts to elevate the practise of all Irish medical professionals working with complex populations.
